Normans Cay, Exuma Cays Bahamas
Normans Cay, Bahamas
Norman’s Cay is a beautiful island located in the Exuma chain of islands, 55 miles southeast of Nassau and 220 miles southeast of Miami. The island is largely unspoiled and is home to an impressive variety of vegetation and birdlife native to the region. The island has a rich history, having been exploited by pirates, farmers from America who have grown crops on its thin soil, and blockade runners who have used it as a transit point to America during the Civil War, Prohibition, and the War on Drugs. Today, the island is home to a handful of private retreats, a marina (in progress), discreet bungalows, and the famous MacDuff restaurant.
